RP&P D-4a #250
Built in 1925 by the Baldwin Locomotive Works, RP&P 250 was built initially for the Lost Cove & Makota Logging Company as their #42 for use on Log Trains to and from the Mill. After nearly being scrapped in 1969, 250 was left abandoned in the forest for decades. The engine was discovered when plans to reactivate the lumbermill were put in motion in December 1997. The engine was moved inside the lumber shed until the RP&P took interest in purchasing the locomotive to run in conjunction with their recently restored Mallet, #250. 250 was moved to the RP&P where she was restored to operation and continues to run today. She can be found hauling tourist trains and hauling light coal drags along the RP&P System.
